The 2011-2012 Reflections Theme

“Diversity Means” is the theme for the 2010-2011 PTA Reflections Program.  The PTA Reflections Program encourages preschoolers through high schoolers to create works of art for fun and recognition. Participating in the Reflections Program is an opportunity for students to explore and learn about various art forms.

All CMS students are encouraged to participate and express their creativity in the annual PTA Reflections Contest.  The Arts areas are: literature, musical composition, photography, the visual arts, dance choreography, and film/video.
Winning entries from each category will advance and have the opportunity to compete at the local, state, and the national level.

 Reflections at CMS

The goal of the CMS Reflections committee for this year is maximum participation.  The committee is also responsible for timely advertisement; poster will be placed in the halls and at the entrances.  The committee will work with the Arts Departments so that students can submit works in a timely manner.

The committee will Collect, categorize and label entries.  All the entries are submitted to judges according to the categories.  The winning entries in each category will be acknowledged at school level.  Also they will be sent to the council to be in a pool of winning entries from each school across the state.

Dates for participation and the timeline for the contest are to be set in a few weeks. The GCISD Council of PTAs website, http://www.txpta.org/programs/reflections will have all the information and rules.  Forms will be available in the office once the contest dates are set.
